Since
1969, Harry Hopcroft has worked in a wide variety of technical and
management positions in government, computing and technology industries.
He served more than 9 years on active duty as a Naval Aviator before
operating his own solar energy and energy auditing business, which
included teaching energy auditing. Starting in 1981, he built highly
successful service departments for two different computer retailers,
then served as the first Network Manager at Bowdoin College. In
1994, he designed and installed a wide area network connecting the
schools in five towns and two school districts. Since January, 1995,
he has served as an independent Technology Management Consultant
helping businesses, government, and individuals improve their use
and application of technology. He earned an MBA in 1976.
In
his current position, Harry takes the role of Chief Information
Officer for individuals and small businesses. His management experience
and training allow him to quickly understand the business issues
surrounding technology questions so he can assist with technology
planning. He can then help with acquisition, installation, testing,
and management of computers, networks, wide area connections, and
computer operating systems. He works in both Windows and Macintosh
environments.
Harry is a
past President of the Maine Association of
Professional Consultants, past
President of Business Network
International, Bath, Maine Chapter. He is an active member of Midcoast Commerce Connection,
a business networking group in Bath, ME., and is the founder and past Coordinator for
Morning Chambers, a business networking group within the
Southern Midcoast Maine Chamber.
